The Happy Core™ and in Homework Hero™ Workshops -
Booking / Cancellation Policy

At The Happy Core™ and in Homework Hero™ Workshops, group spots are limited and prepared with great care.
This policy helps protect your child’s reserved place, support the group as a whole, and keep the work sustainable.

1. Booking & Payment

  • Places in The Happy Core™ Program and Homework Hero™ Workshops are limited and often in high demand.

  • A child’s spot is considered reserved once:

    • Registration has been confirmed and

    • Payment has been received (unless a different arrangement has been agreed in writing).

  • Program and workshop fees are communicated clearly in advance via the website, flyer, or direct email.

  • Unless otherwise stated, fees are due before the program or workshop begins in order to secure the child’s place.

2. Cancellations Before the Program or Workshop Starts

Because materials, planning, and group composition are arranged ahead of time, the following timelines apply:

  • If I cancel my child’s participation more than 7 days before the program or workshop start date:

    • Any fees already paid may be

      • Refunded, or

      • Credited toward a future Happy Core™ group or Homework Hero™ workshop,

    • at Kristin’s reasonable discretion.

  • If I cancel my child’s participation within 7 days of the start date, or

  • If I cancel after the program or workshop has begun:

Fees are generally non-refundable, as the place has been held for my child for the full duration, and preparation time has already been invested.

3. Missed Sessions, Illness & Schedule Conflicts

I understand that:

  • Missed group sessions (for example, due to illness, family events, holidays, or schedule conflicts)

    • are not automatically refunded, and

    • do not reduce the overall fee for the program or workshop.

  • Make-up options (if any) are:

    • Offered only if available,

    • Not guaranteed, and

    • At Kristin’s discretion (for example, joining a different group date if space allows).

I fully understand that children can get sick and that unexpected events occur. Whenever possible, I agree to notify Kristin as early as I can, so that planning and support for the group can be adjusted.

4. Late Arrivals & No-Shows

  • Sessions and workshops start on time to respect all families and the group process.

  • If my child arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time, and the full fee still applies.

  • If my child is more than 15 minutes late and there has been no communication, this may be considered a no-show.

A no-show is when:

  • The child does not attend, and

  • No notice is given.

In the case of a no-show:

The session or workshop may be charged in full and is considered used.

Repeated no-shows may result in future bookings being declined.

5. Online Sessions & Time Zones (if applicable)

For online versions of The Happy Core™ or Homework Hero™:

  • Families are responsible for:

    • Checking the correct time zone,

    • Ensuring a stable internet connection, and

    • Arranging a quiet, as-private-as-possible space for their child.

  • Technical issues on the client’s side (internet failure, device problems, etc.) may still be treated under the regular cancellation and no-show policy.

6. Group Setting, Fit & Participation

Many children in The Happy Core™ and Homework Hero™ have ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, or other challenges. It is completely normal that some days are harder than others, and Kristin always does her best to make each child feel safe and included.

At the same time, a group setting has natural limits.

I understand that:

  • My child is encouraged but not forced to participate. They may sometimes need a break, a quieter role, or a bit of extra support.

  • If my child is consistently:

    • Very distressed,

    • Highly disruptive, or

    • Unwilling to participate over time in a way that affects their own experience or the group’s safety and progress,

Kristin will contact me so we can:

    • Discuss what is happening,

    • Explore adjustments or additional support, and

    • Decide together whether the group format is the right fit at this time.

If, after reasonable efforts and communication, it is decided that the group is not suitable for my child at this moment, or if my child must be withdrawn due to ongoing refusal to participate or severe disruption:

Program or workshop fees are generally not refundable, as the space has been held for my child and significant planning and preparation have taken place.

7. Health, Emotional Safety & Suitability

  • The Happy Core™ and Homework Hero™ are skills-based, educational and coaching programs, not medical treatment or psychotherapy.

  • They do not replace the care provided by a pediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, or therapist.

  • If my child has:

    • A history of severe mental health difficulties, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, or seizures/epilepsy,

    • Major recent changes in medication or hospitalizations,

I agree to inform Kristin in advance, so that she can determine if the program or workshop is appropriate right now or if adjustments/other supports are needed.

In a mental health or medical emergency, I understand that I must contact emergency services or my child’s healthcare provider, as these programs are not crisis services.

8. Communication & Collaboration

  • Kristin’s intention is always to collaborate with families and to find solutions that feel bearable and respectful for everyone.

  • I agree to:

    • Communicate as early as possible about absences, difficulties, or concerns,

    • Share relevant information that may impact my child’s participation, and

    • Be open to conversations about group fit, expectations, and possible adjustments.

Clear, timely communication helps:

  • Keep my child’s place secure,

  • Support the well-being of the entire group, and

  • Allow these programs to continue in a sustainable way.

9. Agreement

By booking and/or allowing my child to attend The Happy Core™ Program or a Homework Hero™ Workshop, I confirm that:

  • I have read and understood this Booking & Cancellation Policy.

  • I agree to these terms and will do my best to communicate openly with Kristin so we can support my child and the group together.

Thank you for valuing this work, your time, and mine.

Please Don't hesitate to contact me in case of questions or concerns.

With Care,
Kristin
